Networking and Social Events

The conference committee is tentatively planning on the following social events:

Olympic Hockey Arena

SEHSA's 20th Anniversary Olympic Games At The Olympic Ice Arena
Broomball, Curling and tour of the Olympic Museums

SESHA participants (including Alumni) will be divided evenly into teams and compete in a “round robin” curling and broomball tournament and have the option to skate towards the end. So bring your skates if you have them. Individual fun awards recognizing the most accurate curler, fastest goal, longest shot, best goaltender and anything else worthy of an award, will be celebrated during the final awards ceremony!

Monday, November 8, 2010

6:30pm:  On entering the 1980 Rink Herb Brooks Arena, the teams will be briefed on the event, hand in signed waivers and receive helmets before the competition begins.

6:40pm: The Miracles begin! Careful curling on one half of the rink and competitive broomball on the other. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the Kodak moments! A rotation will see the teams play each other in both sports once.

8:30pm: A tour of the Olympic Museum is included in the time between sessions and with the fun and games concluded, with results of the tournament in hand, individual prize and awards ceremony will take place.

By the end of proceedings the group will understand how the Olympic Regional Development Authority is preserving the legacy of Winter Sports in Lake Placid, the venues it manages and corporate programs on offer. It is also hoped that the group will appreciate how rich Lake Placid is with history and how we continue to proudly call our region the Winter Sports Capital Of The World!
